escaping the heat

our new place is great in so many ways...so please don't think we are complaining...but phew,no AC is hard to cope with when the inside thermostat reaches 88 degrees! we were melting this weekend, so yesterday we packed up our beach toys and headed for the beach. i think we were at Manhattan Beach this time. the kids loved playing in the sand and the water...i just loved not being sweaty for a change! samuel decided to dig a trench with his head. i think it stretched about 20 feet or so...and he ran his head through it twice just to be sure it was done right. later that night in the tubby, he began to cry as i washed his head...after looking more closely i found that he had a rather large, raw/bloody spot on his head...rubbed from trench diggin!! i guess that is what is called a natural consequence! painful to say the least! today it has scabbed over, and i am sure it will become another of his many head scars.

miss you all heaps,

growing up!

selah was "promoted"!!
it was a fun little celebration that dan and i got to go to, just for selah! our sweet 5 year old has come a long way over the course of a school year! her first days of school were filled with many tears...and now here we are! we sat and watched as selah stood in front of 240 people and sang songs, walked up on stage by herself and turned to us all and waved...she even smiled!! :) amazing what difference a year can make!

it was a sweet finish to a very fun year for us all!

i also included some pictures of father's day...dan took selah and samuel to the driving range...they now LOVE golf!

peace to you all

family foto albumn

random family moments...trying to capture life as it flies by, but often too busy living it to do so! i turned around yesterday to find little "belle" as selah calls elia, had "disappeared". spent several paniced minutes trying to find her...after all how far could a 6 month old get? finally found her in the bathroom! we don't live in a huge place, but still! i can't believe she is already at the "quietly disappear" into trouble stage.

hope you like the pics. :) miss you all!

movin in...again!

it's what we do...move...10 times in 7 years of marriage. that has to be some type of record! i hate boxes, and i actually get "morning sickness" feelings when i smell packing tape!

God's timing and wisdom is ALWAYS right, though...and once again, He has brought us"home".

the pics make it seem smaller than it is...no wait, it really is just small. :) but it is very cozy and quite user friendly.

our garage is currently where all the stuff that won't fit, fits...so the kids use it is as a play space. the back yard is awesome and getting to walk selah to school is soooo fun! samuel rides his bike each time we walk her to school, and ej uses his little legs to push his motorcycle (lame plastic version of the real thing!) the whole way there and back! (explains why he has been waking at night to say his legs hurt!)

we love our new home...and for as long as He has us here, we will bloom where He has us planted. :)

ROAR

"ROAR!!!" it's what i feel like doing a lot these days!

four is way more!

but it is more of everything! ...including the blessings!

our tremendous
two year old, "ej" as we call him (although these days he prefers to be called miguel), walks through his days "roar-ing" at everyone and everything he passes. he says he is being a "TIGER!", but if questioned more about it, you will find he is really meaning to say dinosaur!

the pics don't really show it all, but for what it's worth...here we go.

i really have no idea what i am doing here, so feel free to chuckle along with my husband as i try my hand at "blogger"ing. it's really just so all the people we miss deeply can catch glimpses of us as we grow...please don't try this at home!
