the perspective from seven

(recent dialogue between myself and sweet, seven year old selah)...

"mom that boy made a bad choice...he sinned!"

"yes honey, but you know, we have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God"

"what does that mean, mom?"

"that means that every one of us makes bad choices and sins."

"that is why Jesus died on the cross for us, right mom?"

"you are right, selah"

"mom, if Jesus didn't die on the cross for us, do you know what we would have to do?"

"what honey?"

"we would have to catch a ram, or lamb or sheep, and kill it and burn it to God"

"that's right honey, it is called making a sacrifice."

"mom, we would have to do it EVERY time we sinned!"

"yes, we would"

"WOW! that would be a lot of sheep, mom!"

"indeed it would, selah, indeed it would!"

Cute! I love to hear things from a child's perspective! So glad we don't need those sheep anymore!
